Circadian Rhythm & Lighting
Circadian Rhythm is the 24 hour natural, internal clock in our brain that controls alertness and sleepiness. It is based on the light changes in the environment.
Artificial light can be programmed to work in harmony with our internal body clocks.
Colour tuning involves changing the light intensity and correlated colour temperature (CCT) to mimic the natural day time/night time cycle.
Intensity tuning and colour tuning is the most familiar solution to circadian lighting.
Light fixtures are set to a lower intensity in the early morning, transition to a higher intensity as the day progresses, and reduces to a lower intensity in the afternoon into the evening.
