IP Ratings
The IP Rating of a luminaire indicates the luminaires Ingress Protection Rating.
This is important to know when making your selection to ensure its suitability to the environment and conditions it will be installed.
Most Luminaires will have an IP Rating Label attached.
The first Digit indicates the protection of personal against access to hazardous parts and the protection of equipment against ingress of foreign solid objects and dust.
The second digit indicates the protection of equipment against harmful ingress of water and other liquids.
